To understand how to align your team, you need to analyze three concepts:

Performance

The creation of a singular goal for the business that is translated into goals for every individual in the company so that they are aligned. This also includes the Key Performance Indicators and tools used to plan the business

Behaviors

The communication of that plan to the right audience at the right cadence, and the follow-up against the plan with the right audience at the right cadence

Beliefs

The core values of an organization should be visible in the meetings designed to discuss the plans of the business and the meetings to report against the plan. How core values are established, communicated, listened for and confronted are keys to an organization’s ability to create alignment

Learning Objectives

There are three objectives for the session that tie in perfectly with the ongoing trend to focus on improving a company’s culture to get long term, sustainable results.

  • Point out areas in all organizations where some degree of misalignment exists
  • Introduce a concept called the Management Performance System, which begins to align the expectations of all employees towards the company’s singular goal
  • Give the participants strategies and ideas that they can apply to their business to bring about greater alignment, leading to greater predictability and profitability
